Well Just got my scorewatch report and jareds closed my account. Should I even bother to reopen
it since sterling financial is now splitting your credit limit amongst your cards instead of them
reporting as individual credit lines? opinions?
thanks
I opened my Kay & Jared accounts early last week and found that same thing when it hit my Experian.com report this weekend. Approved for 1500 for both (though I do know it is a shared line), reported as 750/each for Kays & Jared. That sucks. I almost want to close one soas to have the entire limit reflecting for one location.
I also wondered what would happen shoudl I purchase something for say, 1100.00 and if it would repoprt as 1100 with a 750 limit which causes me to appear to go over, dinging me hard.
Is there a reason why you have both Kay & Jared? I'm curious. I opened a Kay's in Sept. 2009, but it didn't come with Jared!

I apped for both. Obviously same company, but one and the other will not have the same stock. A good way to keep the options open. It isn't automatic. You have to apply for it.

It used to be that if you app'd for one, you were automatically approved for the other (as long as you applied for the other) and they would both show the full credit line on your reports, when in reality the single limit was split between the two cards. That made it look as though you had more available credit than you really did. Apparenly this is no longer the case which deals a blow to those who app'd for both cards for that specific reason.

bump - for anyone who has seen any different in regard to reporting two full lines.

I have an account at Jared with a credit line of $1300 but after purchasing a ring for $1753 all of my credit reports list my credit limit as $1753 and not $1300.

**Add WHAT Jared states is available (403) and what KAY states is available (1098) and you have 1501. I was approved for 1500 for BOTH lines. They combine both and (thought I disputed) they report lines as conglomerates and split the limit. I can seeon the website of BOTH my limit is 1500 for each, and they do not report this way. They USED to, but it appears as those days are no more.
