Guys.
I made a very grave mistake. Today, I got an email from check(pageonce) saying I was slapped a 26 dollar late fee for nonpayment.
OMG.
And I checked, I had no payments from Chase Billpay nor AMEX directly. I am doomed. I just did an online payment now. I then called AMEX to have the late fee waived, they agreed. I also inquired about the penalty APR, the CSR said no it will not apply at all.
Now, I am afraid AMEX will ding me. What are the implications guys and any inputs/experiences are highly appreciated.
1) Will I be charged the finance charge?
2) Will my internal score drop with AMEX?
3) Will they cancel my card?
4) I know the CSR said no penalty APR --- but the cardmember agreeement states penalty APR for any one time or future later payments...
5) Will my score drop? will this be reported to the CB?
What do you guys think? I am so sad.

You are fine. You just probably don't want it to happen again.

+1. Set up your automatic payment to the monthly minimum asap to avoid these slipups in the future.

+2. This!
Thanks friends. They gave me an APR reduction this morning.... hmmmm
Also there won't be any impact to your credit reports, since you were less than 30 days late.
