i have a cap one cc that i've been paying on perfectly since jan of this year, does anyone know
if i should ask for a cl increase, or should i wait a full year to apply? my limit now is $500, my balance
is now $30.00
It cant hurt to call and ask but for the most part capital one has stopped doing limit increases upon customer request
+1
Normally you can ask for CLI every 6 months. ( GEMB every 4 months ). But make sure they dont ding you with a hard inq.

In your experience you have you requested with Gemb … and got softs? I know they are all store cards so I would not take the risk if it was hard I got other things I want to use my hard inquiries on.

It has been always soft for me. I ask them for CLI every 4 months like a clock work and I get CLI from them. Only account I did not get cli every 4 months was JC Penny. I think I got 2 cli's on JC Penny so far in the last 3 years. Other cards I got every 4 months. It does not cost any thing to ask, but chances of getting cli every 4 months is very high.
