my better half just pulled her CR after BR and a secured card.

(just found out, I posted under her name, Im Ac921ol)

she has a score of 678, she has a secured card from Cap1 for $300. she is looking at applying for real card finally. I tend to agree, I was thinking she should look at the quicksilver and stay with Cap1 since she has credit with them. She has PIF every month for the past 10 months she has had the secured card. what are you thoughts, she wants something with miles, but miles arent easy to get unless you get a great deal (i.e the amex 50k miles for $1k) She wants to look for something with no AF.

please let me know your thoughts.

Here is credit at a glance.

Re: my better half just pulled her CR after BR and a secured card.

Need more info

How many INQ's in the last year

Where does she do most of her spending

Scores

Be aware cap1 will pull all 3 CB's

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: my better half just pulled her CR after BR and a secured card.

Only pulled scored for free from myfico.com the score watch, which pulled up at 678. Her spending is done mostly on her delta skymiles check card, as she only has a $300 balance on her cap1 and she uses that for gas.

she has had to inquires in the past year

Quicksliver would probably be a good pick at this stage and the 1.5% isn't bad either

The only downside is limits can be all over the place

Re: my better half just pulled her CR after BR and a secured card.

good, I was hoping she would be able to get the QS without the annual fee, Im still hoping she can get it. I told her 1.5% isnt bad at all, but she only sees it as $100 and she gets $1.50, not sure how I can change that in her eyes. Any cards she might be able to get that will give her miles, do you think she can get an Amex Delta? or another card that would give her miles?

Amex is not BR freindly at all

I can't think of any miles cards that may fit others may have more options tho

Re: my better half just pulled her CR after BR and a secured card.

so it seems like she should try for the quicksilver. and wait for a good miles deal and a pre-approval letter, or should she wait until the end of October to apply after another billing cycle of PIF and 1 of the 2 inquires falls off. She just did the prequalify and it pulled up quicksilver one. (shes not a fan of paying an AF)
