After a full year of on time payments and good usage (I got over 100 dollars in rewards) I thought I was in prime postion to have the card unsecure without me having to request it. Boa has been my main bank for 7 years. Theres always at least 5k in the account and a good portion of my dd goes in there. After calling the backdoor number the secured people were less than helpful with my situation. Basically telling me everythimg is up to this magic computer. I asked them why do they even have this department if you guys cant do anythimg or dont know anything. They dont know when my card may be up for review they just say its the computer. Even right on boa's website it says the card will be reviewed at the 12 month mark. For anyone who had this card and the card graduated at the one year mark did it happen that same day or within the week. Idk what to do now?
why not just request it to be unsecured and take the HP, you are going to want to get a CLI anyway after you get it unsecured and they can do that with same pull and also PC you to something better if you like... 3 things 1 hp (worth it!)

Its the principal of it now. I shouldnt have to take a hp to get the card unsecured. I dont really need the card anymore I have much better ones. But how can my own bank not unsecure the card? From what I have read people get CLI when it unsecures anyways and they can do PC. None of their cards are very attracive to me to be honest. They are very far behind from chase, amex, discover, and barclaycard.

sorry to hear bigblue. I had a secured card with them for about 10 months and since i knew my scores had improved i just went ahead and requested a HP to unsecure and request a CLI which both were approved. Since then they have been nothing but generous with me. Have 45k in credit with them and in return i am a platinum member on the banking side. I would suggest give it one more month (statement cut) and if you dont see anything then call them back. If they want you to take a HP still then see if you can go the EO route (havent heard much success through them though). Also, you can go to a branch and talk to your banker see if she/he can help. You have very nice cards already so closing a 300 secured card will not do much harm on your credit portfolio.
I am sorry buddy. BoA has been really nice to me, and they graduated my card without asking after 9 months.
I suggest you to call again and speak with different rep and see how it goes. They should be able to unsecure you, If you have not missed any payments since opening this card.
They literally wont do anything for me execpt to say wait for the computer and they have no idea what the computer is going to do. I Called BOA EO office about a month ago spoke to the rudest EO out of any of them. She told me that BOA would hp my credit anyways at the 12 months so I might as well have them do it now. I laughed at her and told her she is wrong she was.

Oh no, this is not good.....As i have until 6/26/14 to accept their fully secured card w/reward counter offer due to a denial of cash reward card

Well this is also just one instance, there are many more success stories out there as well.
OP, Shock brings up a good point, if they are asking for a hard pull you may want to consider just applying for a new card, unless you want to keep the existing account number and history intact. I suppose you could keep it regardless, but if I had that kind of history I would just take the pull (I realize that is a personal decision too) unless there's something way out of line on your reports.
