neato - NFCU PC

first off, they did my PC SUPER quickly and seamlessly. my entire call time including a 1 minute wait, talking to a regular specialist for verification and being transferred to the credit department, getting my card switched and off the phone only took a whopping 8 minutes. that's wonderful.

i had the goRewards card which i don't use because i don't like it and when i applied for one originally i didn't get an option to choose i just got approved for that. today i PC'd it to the cashRewards and my rate actually went from 17.99% to 15.65%. the lady urged me to call every june (since that's my anniversary month) to review my rate. so for you all that have a NFCU card call each year on your anniversary to re-evaluate your rate. they said they will look at it yearly until you're at the lowest they offer!

so now i am gonna just ditch my cap1 platinum and use this cashRewards more for my non categorical spending. woohoo

Re: neato - NFCU PC

Congrats!  Navy is pretty awesome, especially with PCs.  I got the goRewards in Nov, met the spending bonus, got a CLI to 10K and then called to PC to the Flagship since the wife and I have a joint cashRewards card.  The rep was like let's wait until your $200 cashback shows up before we PC, just in case.  I called the next day after the cash back posted to my account and also had a very smooth PC.

Re: neato - NFCU PC

I was just approved for a gorewards card this week with a credit limit of $5,000 at 17.99% apr.

Couple questions.

I was wondering why you did not like it.

& what is the main purpose of doing a PC / product change? is that a personal preference or is there some kinda formula to it? could you explain this a little if you don't mind?

I am still learning all this!!

Thank you in advance!

Re: neato - NFCU PC

i just didn't like the idea of a "points" card. the goRewards is 1 point for $1. the cashRewards is 1.5% to $1 so it makes more sense to me. i PC'd to get a different card, not any formula to it Smiley Happy

Not OP, but if you were approved for a $5k limit, you should try to PC to the cashRewards. It has a 1.5% cash back rewards structure compared to the 1% return on GoRewards - plus it's a Visa Signature card. Totally worth it.
