Chase is widely reported to be pretty receptive on recons. Start Limit might be low though, but that too is a toss up.

It gets to be so confusing because I don't want to seem like I am desperate, which I am not. I just want a top of the line rewards card to travel with. BTW, I never got cc in the past because I was afraid of them and always paid cash through my bank accts. but I have since realized I need them to establish credit if I want to buy a house, etc...

Also, I have a question about the Discover it cards, I have been getting offers for those non-stop...but why are they different colors? Silver and the burgundy..are they two different cards?

Same card, different images. 

Before applying to other lenders, you might want to think about why you were denied with Chase.  discover really does not have an ability to recon a computer generated denial.

Well with Chase Freedom they told me it was because I wanted to do the balance transfer with my citi card which is fairly new... so that is why I was asking if I should wait for the denial letter and call them back to see if they will reconsider without a balance transfer and basically applying for it as a normal cc, without trying to transfer my citi balance.

Try for the recon - you already took the HP.  Explain what you did in message 14 to them.  If you don't succeed, call back.  I got all 4 of my Chase cards by recon, including a CLI 2 weeks ago (had to recon that too).  You do not need to wait for the denial in the mail.  Some people call 3-4 times. If you've called and just cannot get it (might not want to mention the BT anymore), only then would I wait 6 months.  Good luck!

So if I call again and they bring up the b.transfer because that is what I originally put on my application, what should I say? That I no longer want the BT and instead just to try for cc???
