Re: next step to take, need lotta helps and suggestions

Both DCU and Alliant will use the same HP for cr products. If you are not a member, it would be a second HP for membership. As far as going to banks for an auto loan, IME, banks have not been able to meet the rates I have received from my CUs.

The simple way is to contact the banks and ask what's their lowest rate for auto loans.

Re: next step to take, need lotta helps and suggestions

Thanks. I will apply 3 auto loan from those cu... since it's the same hp, I will go for the credit card as well.

I heard penfed is tough, should I just skip it since I may not get approved for anything?

My priority is actually on the credit limit because I want to show my mortgage lender that I can handle big money. Secondly, just a back up for rainy day.

Thanks

I wouldn't recommend applying at 3 CUs - assuming you are not a member that will be 6 HPs. PenFed can be conservative. IMO, choose I based on your cr profile and your needs.

I believe penfed will only be one hp for membership, loan app, and cc app. Don't know about others. Might be worth calling in before

Re: next step to take, need lotta helps and suggestions

Me personally what i did was get a pre-approval auto loan through USAA and they gave me 28k @ 8.49% and went to dealership. They beat it and got me 4.19% through PNC.

Dont go applying at lots of banks just choose one or use your current.

AAOA means alot but its not everything. I had 9months AAOA. 2 cc and a auto loan. cc's only 5 months old. I was given Citi $4500, Discover IT $2500, Lowes $3000 and Walmart Discover $400 in my last app spree.

When apping they take into account income, time at work place.... Everyone has an unique profile and not one is the same.

You might want to ask that question in the Auto Board.

Re: next step to take, need lotta helps and suggestions

No military affiliation. I bank with chase and I live in greater chicago.

Someone told me northern Illinois credit union.. I have checked not sure if im qualified because it doesn't cover greater chicago area.

I should try auto loan board.
