nfcu question

hi everyone--
i sent my application for nfcu a few weeks ago, i got a call monday afternoon stating that they need a copy of my most recent paystub..

1. why do they not ask this for everyone?

2. from prev experience, is this usually a good thing or not? approval or not??

3.  after info is faxed how long does it normally take before you know something?

thanks everyone!! Smiley Happy

Re: nfcu question

Hey bamagirl, Smiley Happy

NFCU asked for proof of income from me before I got
approved for the nRewards Visa and Mastercard for
2k each. So yes, 99.999% of the time this is a good thing
cuz they need the info to determine a credit limit.

And not everyone needs to send in proof of income because
everyone's credit situation is different. Some folks get approved
instantly while others go thru a manual review. And sometimes they
can verify income without asking for a paystub, which is great news
for the applicant.

So in summary, if they're asking you for a paystub you should be in
very good shape. You should hear something within 24 hours.
Please keep us posted and good luck to you! Smiley Very Happy

Re: nfcu question

Agreed with CanDo.  The fact that they are asking for paystubs is definitely a positive sign and is likely needed to help determine the initial CL.

When I apped for NFCU the first time, they asked for paystubs as well.  This seems to be a fairly common practice with CUs and when you think about it, it's much better than the alternative.  I appreciate creditors who ask upfront rather than those who surprise you later on with requests for financials, but that's another topic for a different thread...

Call me a crazy optimist, but I think it means you're IN.  NFCU is AWESOME!!!

Re: nfcu question

NFCU asked me to fax a copy of my recent pay stub and, since I  have a FA, a copy of a recent utility bill and a copy of my drivers license.

If they are asking for all that stuff, you're approved.

Same situation with me with the FA. I faxed a paystub and utility bill and was approved for $15,000 MC and $10,000 LOC.
Here we go again...

Re: nfcu question

They have been known to ask for docs with lower FICO scores. Remember, Navy will be good to you as long as you are good to them.
