683 transunion with 6 mos history 6 inquiries 1 baddie due to fall off beginning of next year. I got the 7 day message so I called and told me it was declined and that I would be sent a letter with denial reasons? I think they dont do recons. oh well guess ill just wait another 6 mos to see if I can graduate my secured cards
Same thing happened to me and then a month after being denied, I went online to their website and clicked the credit card area and saw I was pre-approved! I went for it and was approved! And not much had changed on my report in the month between the denial and the approval....so who knows?! LOL! Give it a month and check the website from time to time to see if a pre-approval shows up. Also, you may want to try applying in the store. I've read on here that some of been denied online then approved when they applied instore. Good luck!
I've always thought applying in store for them (or most store cards) would bring the most positive result. May or may not be true, but I've read many times that's where people had the best outcome. I only applied once, years ago, in store, and was approved, same with Kohls before that, then Best Buy much later.

+1
True. I had success instore with Best Buy as well. Ive also read on here alot of instore success sstories.... seems that chances are better applying in store.
When I applied for a store card, one of the employee's questions was "Are you planning to purchase something today? If so, how much?" Always make up a good number. It helps.
I didnt think there would be a difference. I dont get it cause Ive seen people with mid 500 tu and get approved with several derogs.
I think I shouldnt have applied cause my address doesnt match what I have on my license in the app. Would that cause a denial?
It matters the address on your reports versus your app. You'll find out soon enough. Sorry you were denied.
Just curious, how do you have a baddie with 6 months history?

I have 6 mos credit history. ive never had credit before. the baddie is from an old utility bill back a few years ago. my current address and whats on my reports match. but the app asked for my drivers license number and that doesnt match my current address
Ohhhh, I see. Weird, I don't remember having to give my driver's license number on a credit app.
GE money bank from my experience always asks for State of Lic and number
