I been looking into that credit union as well. i would really be interested in finding out that information as well. i wonder if they are a conservative lender or if they are kind of generous when issuing CL's

Re: question about DCU

Not certain on their credit cards, CS800 is the only one I know who has an unsecured one though I believe he started secured much like I'm doing.  I did just apply for an auto-loan refinance though, I'll probably get some idea of how they compare to say Penfed (who's conservative with everything AFAIK) based on that.

Pretty no-frills card though, I don't think they're necessarily inquiry sensitive but they will ask for documentation for pretty much everything.  However, I have to admit I'm enjoying the freebie FICO score more than I anticipated.

Starting Score: EQ 04 561, TU 98 567, EX 98 599 (12/30/11)
Current Score: EQ 04 700, TU 04 731, EX 98 725 (05/24/15)
Goal Score: 700 on EQ 04 (01/01/16)

Re: question about DCU

DCU became much more sensitive post 2008/09 fiasco than any other consumer bank/CU that I dealt with in my opinion. In 2007 a collegue of mine came FOB and they started him with a $2k card, increased to $6k in 6 months after direct deposits consistently came through (our company is a big name one too). Try that now and you will go through an FR, like my wife did. I also know a few other co-workers who got $10k limit  during those days even though they did not understand anything about credit cards etc. They are not the CU that gives generous limits like USAA, NFCU etc. Now they want to see risk sharing, meaning you should have cards from other lenders in your CR and good limits on them to get good limits from DCU. The one positive thing about their hard pull is typically that will alsobe used for an auto loan qualification if your scores are good.

Someone recently posted here that they got in with DCU and also got a $10k starting limit. Might want to search for it and find out what their profile is like. I have a $15k rewards card with them but it has taken hard pulls and time to get there. I also qualified for an auto loan with the last pull. Of course now I have a 800+ score and suspect they will give me a good limit when I go for the next CLI.
