I am so nervous right now and i hope that this situation is not going to mess up my score. I made a payment from my checking account to pay for a credit card bill earlier this morning. Completely forgetting that i made that payment, i went trigger happy and paid another credit card bill but my bank account is not going to be able to cover the second charge. Is this payment just going to be declined? Or is it going to be an overdraft fee from my banks checking account? If it is an overdraft fee i will suck it up and deal with it. Are there any other issues that might arrive. I already sent an online message because it says the payment wont take out until the 3rd anyways but i sent a online message asking for it to please take out on the 5th since my bank account wont cover the amount untill that date. Please tell me to calm down and everything will be alright. Thanks
Calm down! Everything is gonna be fine all thats gonna happen is that you will get an overdraft fee from your bank, no affect in your credit at all!
thank you for the answer. Have a great night
It was a payment to my Bank of America card, unfortunatly i already received a message that the payment is already in processing status so it cant be cancelled. The thing is there was not even a due amount due on my bank of america card but i like to stay up to date with paying my bills so i went ahead and made this payment early like i said without remembering that i paid my amex earlier that day.
Another question i have now is, Is the payment going to go through regardless if there is money in my checking account or not? I dont have overdraft protection so it should overdraft my account right? And also is Bank Of America going to take away my 0% interest because of this if the payment just straight up bounces and doesnt go through?
I think i may have found a solution but i will let everyone chime in. The bank I am currently involved in (Publix Employees Federal Credit Union) has Mobile Check deposits. I sent them a message asking if a Money order will be accepted as a check. Hopefully i will get a message before they try to take the amounts out because if i can deposit a money order it will be an automatic credit to my checking account for 200.00 and that will save me from everything going out of wack.. Thanks to everyone who has helped me thus far,

If you initiated the payment from your checking account, you should be fine, but may get an overdraft fee. The money order may be a good idea if they will post it to your account immediately. I don't use M.O.'s, so I don't know how they're treated.
It's great that you didn't initiate the payment from the CC's website because that may have cause you problems if they payment was returned. With or without the M.O. you should be fine...be careful next time!
no family or friends to transfer funds to your checking account ? Its not too late for that is it?
