"Account closed at credit grantor's request." - Always Bad?

I was going through my EX CR and noticed that a very, very old Victoria's Secret account is listed as "Account closed at credit grantor's request." Is this always a bad thing?

According to the CR, the account was opened in December 2007 and "closed" in January 2008. I think what might have happened was that I opened the store card in-store (without knowing what the heck I was doing - I was new to credit back then) then never called in to activate the account. I know I never used the card, as I never even received it.

It might be worth noting that on my EQ CR, this same account is listed as open, albeit without any history.

it's not a bad thing as far as credit scoring goes. It could be noticed on a manual review, but likely no significant impact.

I've got a couple on mine listed like that.  I haven't heard a peep about them from several car loans and even my mortgage last year.  If the mortgage folks don't care I can't imagine anyone else would either.  All of mine were positive payments histories so that may have had something to do with it.  FICO wise it doesn't matter.

I've had a credit card where the account number was stolen and it reported to CRAs as "closed by credit grantor". BofA detected fraud, closed the account, and sent me a new card.

To me, this is why an underwriter could never really use that statement to draw any sort of conclusion.

If it's a store card, prob not a big deal.
However,
If your highest line suddenly closes, it would likely be noticed by your other creditors...
Not just bc of the closure, but you prob did something to spook the closing creditor anyway...
High util, high, inqs, etc.
