shop Amazon using Membership Rewards points

Amazon now allows Amex cardholders to use Membership Rewards points for purchases at Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/shopwithpoints/marketing.html

This sounded great at first, but after enrolling my Bue card, it looks like the conversion rate from points to dollars is only 0.007 dollars per point.

I have 877 points. This translate to $6.13 that can be applied towards purchase...not so great. If the conversion was one cent per point, it would be worthwhile. Amex and Amazon had the right idea, but for people with other reward cards like Chase Freedom and Citi Dividend, the offer is less than good.

Re: shop Amazon using Membership Rewards points

I'm looking to move away from my Blue. I still like American Express in terms of their CS and so forth, but I think their rewards are pathetic. (And this is from when I had a Gold card, too.) Next move might be the Costco thingy...

Re: shop Amazon using Membership Rewards points

I got a link that I could save 20% in using my points. I looked at the reg site and could get a fishing reel for 83,000 points and when I went to the SPECIAL site the same reel was 87,998 AFTER the 20% discount. Wow what a deal huh?

Unfortunately, I think that's one of the better cash equivalent conversion rates for Membership Rewards Express points.
