should they stay or should they go???

so here's my question...i have a c1 (my oldest card) with a $1000 cl wont budge on cli and it has an af.

2 hsbc cards one is mastercard and one is discover. i think the discover has an af and the cl is only $1000 won'g budge either..

the mastercard is a best buy mastercard got in 11/07 has an annual fee won't give cli either..

LAST IS apple juniper card just hit 1 yr this month..a little cl of $250 no af but no luck on cli either..

so should they stay or should they go??????

Have you tried the backdoor numbers for those cards? If not maybe you should try them! Good luck on a good CLI got my fingers crossed for you!

It all depends upon what else you have but I would say a little spring cleaning may be in order. Smiley Happy

I agree if you now have prime cards with good CL your happy with than clean these out. But if these are your good cards, then closing would really hurt you.
What about consolidating atleast the 2 HSBC

Re: should they stay or should they go???

oh then as long as you don't have a lot of balances closing a couple out shouldn't hurt. but if you consolidated to HSBC you would be left with a cl closer to some of your other stuff and then only be closing 2 instead of 4

Re: should they stay or should they go???

that might be true, but would def. ask to be sure.
and your right, the history is there, as long as you don't need them for util. you should be fine.

Re: should they stay or should they go???

I would dump anything that had any charges associated with it. I would keep any card that agreed to waive their annual charges. You might be better off for at least a little while letting these help with payment history but would close any card that refused to drop their fees.
