/sigh. Walmart does it again

I need to SD my Walmart Discover card. Wednesday afternoon I made a small charge to it (around $50 at a local Walmart store). 12/2 is my statement cut date. Go online to pay bill in full and guess what? The charge hasn't cleared yet and it's been more than 48 hours. How much you want to bet it clears seconds before my statement generates. Their practice of doing this really pisses me off.

LOL- yea- it really gets me too!  I have just taken to not using it near statement cut off date.  3 times now they've gotten me.  Can't pay till it post and it always post right before statement cut night of.  UGH!

Not to mention they take 7 days or so to generate it after the due date.

I thought it was just me....what is really going on with them

I just push the payment through my bank and let the crap sit as a credit

Just push a payment from your bank's billpay. Weird, I don't seem to have this issue with my Walmart Discover card. I make payments using their online billpay, as I do with all my cards.

Pushing payments through don't always work. (Especially if you've already made another payment earlier in the cycle.) 

GECRB REALLY REALLY wants to report a balance. It's not just with the Walmart card. I don't know what their problem is, but this is how I fixed it for myself. I use any GECRB card only once during the cycle. I pay only one payment at least a week before it's due. I do not touch it again until it reports. That gives me about a week or so in which to use it safely, but it does work.

takes a week to clear payment and can't use it a week before statement cuts. Seems you can only use card to full extent without UTIL hit 1/2 of the month.

I'm not trying to be negative but what's the big deal if they report a balance. Especially in the op's case having a 25k CC what's a 50 dollar charge going to do?

The big deal is Amex hasn't updated my SP account review yet. Im going for CLI request as soon as its updated and with the mess I have on cap1 auto I'm trying to have every other aspect of my report maximized.
