After messing up my credit in 2008 when i lost my job I had 6 charge offs and 2 collections accounts. After all the help I got from reading these forums my journey started July of last year..started off with rebuilding and paying off my debt. Now I'm down to 3 charge offs on my file and no collections on my CR. I started with an bofa secured, orchard bank and a low limit cap1. So last month I tested the waters was approved for Walmart - 1k Macys- 600 then last night I felt it was time to get some prime cards under my belt even though I felt I was going to get denied. My score from CK was 633 and had a utilization of 20%....I went for a Chase freedom and was approved for $500 and I also got approved for 1k..I was shocked I was approved. I'm so happy now my old cards will be SD and I will use both these cards charge 10-15% a month and pif right away. To the garden I go and my journey will continue!! Big congrats!!! and congratulations on your first prime card approval! Trust me, i know the feeling. I jumped and cried of joy when Discover approved me (my first unsecured prime card)!!!...
