Re: the app itch...

Given that you make a new thread about wanting to apply for cards 3-4 times a week, I'd say you never lost your "app itch."

You're already on board with some good lenders.  You've laid a good foundation.  If what you want is the AMEX Gold and Chase SP, there's really no reason to apply for any cards until you're sure you can get the ones you want.

The primary function of this forum seems to be to encourage people to use credit inquiries, but, despite that, everyone is still telling you not to apply for anything.  That said, I'd consider taking a break from this forum.  If you're trying to not apply for credit cards, it must be painful to read a dozen threads a day about people getting approved for credit cards. You'll get what you want a lot faster if you take at least a year off from worrying about credit cards.  Watched pot never boils, etc.

Re: the app itch...

Right.  Think about it though.  If you don't get another INQ for an entire year, you could be one of those people posting about how you had a surprisingly low score to get approved for a CSP.  And if you don't get it, you'll at least feel good knowing that you used the INQ on something you really wanted to get, and you've only used one INQ all year.

If you lower your AAoA and add INQs getting/trying to get useless cards like the Citi Student, you're probably not going to be able to consider applying for the cards you really want for a year and a half.

Afbar your screenname alone should be in the Urban Dictionary under Afbar: to frequently make threads about applying for credit even after telling yourself multiple times that you are gardening.

All joking aside your itches for new credit are just hurting you even more. Credit is a game of patience, if you have an itch for a new card open up a new checking account and get a new debit card. I like how you are inspired to get great cards, but you might want to think what your purpose for each card is. Also not knocking your credit score, but there is always room for improvement. Do you want lenders looking at your credit report saying "wow this person is desperate for credit" or would you rather be patient, build your score up and have them look at your report as you are not desperate. Come up with a plan for your credit goals and stick to it. You go back and forth more than a tennis match. I wish you the best of luck with your cards and credit in the future.
