Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since my last log in. Hope everyone is doing well.
I have a couple questions to ask here;
1. As mentioned on title, is the 800-446-0664 from Wells Fargo legit? I got a couple phone calls from this number but I missed them both. So I quicky went to check out my account and found the unauthorized charges on my WF cc. I then called the number back of my card (different number than the one that called me) to talk to the representative. I asked the representative to replace my card. Done here.
After I hung up with the representative. I then logged in my account again and see that the available balance on my cc is now zero.
Question number 2. is that
2. Is it normal that when you ask for the card replacement, they usually holds up the balance and makes it zero?
This is my first time dealing with CC fraud thingy, please help me.
Thank you very much.
I truly appreicate your help.

Sorry to hear you got a fraud situation. That sucks.
It is possible they cancelled the card or put a block on it to prevent new charges. That is an unfortunate downside to having to sort through the fraud vs real transactions: everything has to stop for a time.
Your best bet is to call that number on the card again to find out status. They may have already started to issue you a new card, the new card could have a new number, all sorts of possibilities that only WF knows for sure.
Good luck!
Dear NRB525
I am very grateful for your answer. I was quite panic but I tried to control myself because I know if I keep calling them, I will then look like the fraud myself.
Your answer really helped, I truly mean it. I was very worried and it's almost dinner time but I haven't had food, neither a drop of water. You can imagine how worried i was.
Thank you so so so much, you are very kind
I had a card compromised several years ago, I think it was a bank that was later bought by Chase. They had picked up spending in So Calif and called me to check on it, then shut it all down, sent me a new card, and I don't think I ever saw any of the bogus charges on any statement. I was like "Oh, really? You did? Ok, thanks..." and that was it.
The banks deal with this all the time, so should be no problem in this case.
