unused cards

Will AmEx or Chase close your account or decrease your limit if you don't use their cards for a period of time?

Definitely possible with any card.  If you're concerned, I would set them to pay for some small recurring charge every month and put the card on autopay.

Re: unused cards

+1. I have one of my cards on recurring auto pay for my cell phone bill and another for recurring auto pay for my cable/internet bill.

You might find if there's a certain bill that happens to have the best benefit from one of those cards and use it via autopay, then auto PIF your card.

For example, Wells Fargo provides free cell phone insurance if I pay my cell phone bill with my Wells Fargo Platinum card. So I have that one bill setup on autopay through my provider, then I have my checking account PIF my WF card every month.

That way, you don't have to worry about keeping the card active, and you get some benefit by using the card.

Re: unused cards

One of my cards has a 9k limit, but I only put about $50 a month on it and PIF. I try to do them in small transactions to give the CC some swipe fees. Do you think that will satisfy the Bank, Irish?
