I think you are requesting increases during one of the worst times regarding credit cards and financing. I have been with Amex since 2004 when I received a green card. In the beginning of 2007 I received an Optima Platinum with 5k limit. Four months later I asked for a limit increase to $7,500, which they gave me. I also have a Gold Rewards and a Platinum Business Card. My advice to you is "Do as I say,not as I do" In retrospect I didn't need all of these cards and all of this credit!! Based on the information in your e-mail they will give you an increase, just not at this time when so many people are defaulting on their obligations. But think about it do you really need that much credit? It is better to pay with cash. Trust me!!
