I just got my walmart card last week. I purchased a couple of things with it and got $40.00. I thought cool. I knew you could get up to $60.00 with it. This weekend I went and got a few groceries and tried to get $60.00 with it. The purchase was approved, but the cash was denied. Not sure why. As it is the weekend and I'll call them Monday. Seems odd. The only thing I can think of it's a new account. Has anyone had this happen to them? Just curious. Thanks, John
Hi, There are limits on how much you can take as a cash advance and its different from perosn to person. You might have a low limit to start with since the card is new. It shows the limit on your monthly statement but i am sure you can call and get the limit. They might even be there tomorrow.
thanks, I'll check my account. I looked at it earlier and didn't see anything, but will look harder....
well, I checked. I don't have a statement yet, so it wouldn't show. But thanks for the info. learned something new.
I have heard that the limit is 60.00 per billing cycle, not sure how accurate this is.
It is correct that the limit may vary per person, but it is per 24hr period.
if it really is 60$ per 24 hour period that sucks, my Discover More gets 120 per day. Love Discover cause of their cash back option.
I've never tried to do the cash back option with my Walmart.
There are two limits in play when it comes to cash-over with Walmart -- the daily limit of $60, and the total limit which varies by account. Your statement should show your total cash advance limit, or you can call customer service to find out. There is no monthly limit -- if you have taken cash up to your cash advance limit, and you pay it off, you can take more cash.
GECRB WM uses your history with the account and your current CL to determine your cash advance limit. Mine currently sits at $120 with 1 year history and $1,500 CL.
