weird Equifax Score / Capital One question

Hi,

last week I got my Capital One Venture approved with a 50K credit line (mentioned that before here since I was really suprised about the limit bc it was double the limit of my Amex Propel and my SPG).

Today I got the letter with the credit score disclosure.

They based my approval on my Equifax score of 727. The range was 334 to 818 !? What kind of score is that ? I thought the range is 300 to 850 ? My CreditKarma-Equifax score is 764. Why is the Cap1 score so much lower ?

Amex BCP (65.000), CapOne Venture ($50.000), Chase Sapphire Reserve ($45.000), Citi Double Cash ($26.000), Wells Fargo Amex WorldPropel (25.000), Amex SPG (25.000), Barclay American Airlines (22.500), Citi AA (19.700), Chase Amazon (12.500), Apple Card (15.000) Chase Freedom (5.400), Chase Freedom Unlimited (3.000), CapOne Quicksilver ($5.000), Chase Ink Cash (10.000), Amex EveryDay (1.000),

Re: weird Equifax Score / Capital One question

and btw my TU score provided by CapOne itself is 783! Why are they using an Equifax score for approval but provide TU scores for customers?

The score provided by Cap One is not a Fico. In fact, it's a score that absolutely no creditor uses to make decisions.

Re: weird Equifax Score / Capital One question

CAPTOOL is correct, it's the Transunion New Account Model. Just use it for keeping up with information, do not rely on it for scores. Same goes for Credit Karma.
