Someone on this site who has a Wells Fargo secured card told me to go with a BofA one because BofA is more likely to convert to a unsecured one after 12 month. He said in almost every case the BofA ones convert whereas with Wells Fargo they convert less regularly or at a lower rate.
If you have a WF account already than do go for their secured card. You will increase your chances of getting approved and i think they do take into consideration your banking relationship with them went it comes to unsecuring and/or approving you for an unsecured card. If not then do go for the BofA secured card and your chances of graduating after one year increase greatly (plus you dont have to wait either in April or October to gradaute like you do with WF).
