LOL@chase freedom with only 3 months history
Chase Freedom was my first CC in 2007 with no history...
...and yet they won't give me a credit card of any type with 700+ FICOs, 9+ years of AAoA, and a 3-years dated BK7 that didn't burn them (never burned them).
To each CCC its own, I guess

The times may have something to do with it. That WAS when banks were throwing credit at people like candy. Were I to apply today under the same circumstances, I highly doubt I'd be approved.

Usually a FICO score cannot be generated until 6 months of history. Is this FICO or a FAKO?

i think you should try recon.;.........min call them 3 times until you get YES.
I too have short credit history and was denied for Chase Freedom. I called recon thrice but always was denied. It's been a month since I applied but I havent received any letter from them.
