Re: what's in your wallet?

Didn’t realize how much was in my wallet until I had to have emergency surgery last month. In the hospital you can check you’re valuable in with security to be locked away. When you submit your wallet they go through every single card and log it by the last four digits. I was slightly ashamed when I kept pulling out card after card. My Dad, who was holding down the fort until my Mom/Sister got into town about died! He’s very credit conservative. I had to swear to him that most of them didn’t even have a balance. He’s still talking about it….

My super cute Kate Spade zip up wallet is currently carrying:

  1. Chase Freedom (restaurants)
  2. AMEX Green (not actively using)
  3. USAA debit (don’t use often)
  4. HFCU Platinum MC (not actively using)
  5. My HSA Card
  6. NFCU CashRewards (some use)
  7. AMEX Delta Gold (Not actively using)
  8. Sallie Mae (Gas/Groceries)
  9. Venture (Spend met, not using much)
  10. Marriot (primary card)
  11. License
  12. $500 in cash I need to deposit. To meet my Marriott spend, I paid the gym fee for my sons AAU basketball team and his Coach gave me the cash. Need to get to a UPS store to deposit to my USAA account.

I guess I should remove some of these….

Re: what's in your wallet?

*umm, feeling as if I need to UP my game a bit now* LOL

I currently have only four highly coveted positions in my wristlet...and their occupants are as follows:

Ringleader: License

Captain: NFCU cashRewards

Commander: Amex Everyday

Lieutenant Commander: Charles Schwab Platinum Debit (because in some arenas cash is still king)

Wondering now though... should I be employing some sort of rotation method. If the cards are in no "danger" of being closed, is it even worth it to do so?

Any thoughts/methods are greatly appreciated!

My wallet currently has the following: Driver's License, Chase Freedom (restaurants are the 5% category), USAA AMEX (2.25% on Gas & Groceries), & Gift Cards.  I'm a bit OCD so my cards are housed in a binder with trading card inserts, which fit credit cards perfectly! I only carry my debit card when I need to make an ATM deposit. I have a very DETAILED Excel spreadsheet that I created to assist me in keeping up with due dates, balances, utilization, statement closing dates, etc. I plan how much and when I  spend which keeps me from overspending.

I love this idea!

Re: what's in your wallet?

My Fossil wallet contains a lot of stuff.

Frequently used items:

1. Chase Freedom for Restaurants

2. BoA 123 Rewards for Gas and Wal-mart purchases

3. Cap One for Misc Spending that I don't have better than 1.5%

4. AMEX BCE when I go to a non wal-mart grocery store or costco.

It also contains

Drivers License, Permanent Resident Card, Health Insurance, Dental and Vision card for myself and children.

2 Debit cards

DCU Platinum Visa

Barclays Rewards MC

HSA Debit Card

Citi Diamond Preferred

Wal-Mart card

NFM Card

A few gift cards

$5 cash and some receipts

If I let the receipts pile up it can start to look like a George Costanza wallet otherwise it folds easily.

Last negative item should fall off in July 2017.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who keeps their other cards in a binder. Except I use  business card inserts. LOL Love it!

Re: what's in your wallet?

I have more cards than I though I did in my wallet!

The trio daily drivers are:
Amex BCP
Citi Forward
and BOA Travel Priv.

I keep my BOA debit card to get cash, and have my Target card + AAA cards stored in another slot just in case.

I have a total of 9 CC and 2 debit cards. All of my credit cards are rewards cards in some form or another.

Everything is stored in an awesome vegan leather phone wristlet!
800+ across all three (via FAKOs) has been achieved! Current goal - Get down to 6 cards in total - sitting with 8 currently.

Re: what's in your wallet?

Muh Wallet Contains:

Credit/Charge

- Amex PRG

- Amex Corporate Green

- Chase Sapphire Preferred

- Citi Double Cash

Debit

- PNC Visa Debit

Reward Cards

- Costco Executive Membership (sorta counts)

- Mariano's

- Walgreen's

Other

- Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance

- Public transit fare card

- CompTIA Certification Card (yeah, seriously.)

- Drivers license

- $50-ish in cash

I default to the PRG unless I'm paying for travel expenses that I can't coerce my company into paying for. I prefer not to think about this stuff more than what's necessary.

I Have Way Too Many of These.

American Express - No CLI or Appreciation Gift in 7 Years

Citibank - Handing Out Credit Limits Like Candy

Chase - Surprisingly, Still Tolerating My Credit-Chasing Ways

Bank of America - My Newest Bae.

Everyone Else.
