The last credit card I applied for before that was $250 from first premier. This was over 4 years ago though. Didn't have very high util but my eyes lit up when I saw my credit score jump 50 points because of the higher CL now. My previous CC companies aren't very CLI friendly.
I got 2 pulls on my report last month, the NFCU pull, and my USAA Mortgage Refi pull. Once I finish the refi on my house, and buy my wife a new car, I'm gonna try for the NFCU Flagship card and then garden for a year. I have 2 loans with NFCU, 1 is 2.5 years old, the other almost 2 years, No negative info for over 4 years now, my FICO score is 717 now after the 2 pulls, I just opened the Cashrewards last month, do you NFCU pro's think my chances are good of getting the Flagship from NFCU?
Do not go for the flagship right after another app. You need to build up your relationship with them first. Then after a year or so revist the idea of apping for the flagship. Although, after a year you will have a shot at prime cards from other lenders.
