when will credit card company close accounts?

I currently have five or six different credit cards that I never use. like Best Buy Home Depot Lowes Mattress world about how long do you guys think it takes until the issuing company cancels out the cards for non use.

Just curious cause some of these cards are pretty high limits and I don't want to lose the credit lines but how often do you need a lawn mower, mattress, and a TV
What are some of the techniques that you guys use to keep credit lines open that you never use?

Every card is different. But in my experience 1 year with no charge gets your card cancelled.

 be safe I would charge evry 4 months, at best bbuy you could buy a candy bar just to keep it active
