which card to close first???

In the last few months I have gotten a discover IT card and chase freedom(although a low limit) I have 3 other rebuilding cards all with 0 balance. The are first premier, orchard bank and first national. A couple months ago I applied for an AMEX green card and one of the reasons for denial was doing business with first premier(forget how it was worded) Was wondering which card would be best to close 1st. They def helped me rebuild in a time of need but have no use for them anymore. I appreciatte everyones opinion. Thanks!

If you need an order:

1. First Premier

2. Make sure First Premier is closed with a 0 balance

3. Triple check FP

3. Orchard

4. First National

Re: which card to close first???

Yes, they've helped you rebuild, but they've finished serving their purpose. Good for you! First Premier should be the first one to go, as they usually charge a monthly fee. Orchard should be able to go, as well. I don't know much about First National, but if it's not serving a useful purpose, then feel free to cut it loose. Congrats on the Discover and Freedom -- those are nice cards. Treat them well and enjoy them.

Re: which card to close first???

If First National doesn't charge an AF, why not SD it?

Re: which card to close first???

They do charge an AF. I think I will cut loose FP first then orchard. First national will be last. Couldnt have rebuilt without the help of this board. The journey isnt done yet but I feel like I am on my way. It feels great!!

Re: which card to close first???

I sd Orchard after the EO waived the AF instead of closing it. Might be worth a shot.
