i was broswing the AMEX site and i saw the zync is no longer there. any one know why and what will happen to the one i have?
UPDATE: Spoke with AMEX. the CSR said they are phasing out the card and they are no longer accepeting new memberships for the nor any new packs(should have relized something was up when i kept getting notices about packs) and that they will most likely be closing the cards at some point and that they will not and can not PC to a diffrent card.
Word on the street is that they hae discontinued the Zync. I don't think this affects current cardholders much, although I also read on here that they have discontinued the 'packs.
i had a bookmark to the pack/benefit center and it no longer wroks.
Hopefully they won't close our accounts within the next six months! This will give a chance to have a full year under my belt for backdating and hopefully I will have success when I app for another AMEX at that time.
i got the green a few months ago. so its not a big deal. ill try to keep it open for a year only a few more months to go and then close it. maybe the prepaid card replaced it. they are really pushing the prepaid now and i mean every where even walmart now
Yes, it's been discontinued. It doesn't affect currect cardmembers, but they can't add any "packs". I was luckly to apply for the Zync before the "cut date". Anyway, I am planning on applying for the Gold Rewards in the next six months, and then going for the BCP soon after. I am charging the heck out of my Zync, and of course repaying it at the end of month. That should get me into Amex good graces so that appying for their Gold Rewards and BCP will be a easy breeze....
well we will see what happens it seems like they were starting to get rid of months ago. i kept getting letters from them saying that this place no longer is participting in the pack or we are no longer offering this one. in the past 3 months i got about 6 letters from them regarding zync

I doubt they are going to close down all accounts that soon. There are plenty of credit products that have been discontinued and are still serviced by the banks. Regardless, it wouldn't have any affect on your backdating one way or the other if it was closed. The card would continue to report for 10 years and any new accounts backdate to the year you opened your Zync whether it is still open or not.
