We see people manage even credit card debts well in excess of $8400 regularly here; article didn't suggest what assertions were being made to quantify that as a tipping point.
Yeah it requires a willingness to change behaviors (assuming one can't just write a check for it which some fraction of the consumer base can) and a desire to fix it, but it doesn't seem like the sky is falling based on this alone or is the population here so incredibly niche in this regard too that it's meaningless for American consumers as a whole?
0% interest skews things too, I don't know how much of a thing that was in prior times.
