Chase helping Oklahoma customers affected by tornadoes

TV coverage brought the tragic story to the world Monday evening. And the U.S. Government officially declared Oklahoma a disaster area after several violent tornadoes roared through Oklahoma City and nearby Moore.

Chase was already in action. Call trees lit up—and all 540 employees are safe. Now, bank teams are working quickly to help the customers, neighbors and communities affected by the storms.

Chase branches in the hardest-hit counties—Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie—are open, stocked with cash and planning to stay open extra hours for the next several days.

The five branches closest to Moore are also getting "care packages" of bottled water, power strips, extension cords, flashlights, batteries, coolers and other supplies to share with customers.

Chase will also waive fees on late payments, overdrafts, ATMs and more, and suspend all collections, repossessions, foreclosures and marketing calls in those counties through June 4.

Tweeting the news

Meanwhile, the Twitter team is getting word out over social media:

*ALERT* All branches are open & ready to help those affected by tornadoes in #Oklahoma. We're also on Twitter or call us at 1-888-356-0023.

Customers in the affected areas will also see a special message when they log in to Chase Online:

Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. We hope you and your family are safe.

We're here to help. If you can't get to one of our branches or need help, please call us at 1-888-356-0023 or tweet @ChaseSupport.

Re: Chase helping Oklahoma customers affected by tornadoes

That's a very nice gesture by Chase.  As a fellow Oklahoman, I would like to thank them and the many other companies and entities that have helped out with the victims of the storms.  It is not something they have to do, it is just something they did.

And no, I don't work for Chase.  Smiley Happy
