Nearly a month after announcing it would be shutting down dozens of stores, JCPenney on Friday released the full list of 138 locations it will close within the next few months.

One of my favorite stores and they are going to close most of the Minnesota stores starting April 17th ... I am depressed! Also. they are terminating 5,000+ employees. Retail and retail credit cards are not the place to be.

Sad.  JCP was my 1st credit card.  Over 30 years ago.  Hope they find a way to keep the remaining stores open.

The closest one to me that is closing is Orange, CA.  I didn't even know they had a location in Orange...apparently, neither did anyone else.  

There are over 1000 stores in the US, so 138 closures is significant, but not a mortal wound.
