NFCU Partners w/ AMEX

I was reading this article and wanted to get some thoughts. Im curious what the approval would look like for this since I cant get an AMEX for another couple of years (due to BK). -- Here's the article from business wire: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170509005091/en/Rewards-Store-Navy-Federal-Members-American-...

Good readSmiley Happy. Well, since its not the actual Amex with whom you are blacklisted , you will have a shot if you meet the requirements set up by Navy and UW. Im sure there will be a bunch of apps for this as a) its a new card, and b) alot of people seem to want 2 and 3 Navy cards to get the big sls. Smart move on Amex's partSmiley Happy

I agree with it being a smart move *smiles. Im looking forward to adding this as a 2nd card with NFCU (not looking for a 3rd with NFCU).Until then... to the garden I go!

My other thought is that they might offer a 2.5% card similar to USAA, but of course that's just my own idle speculation... LOL.

This would be a TOTAL game changer for a lot of people!! Let's hope this is what it is. With Amex higher swipe fees, they would be in a position to do this.

Excellent read!

No, this is just Amex the transaction network, not Amex Centurion Bank.  Pulls for UW this card will be the same as NFCU does anyway.

The payment network wouldn't have any bearing on NFCU's UW practices.   This is a credit product issued by NFCU using the AMEX payment network.   While Centurion Bank typically pulls EX, NFCU pulls TU for their CC apps.  Of course, this could change in the future, but it would likely affect all of their products.
