Can't sleepOne poster says an NFCU CSR said Sept 6.
I'm still not clear on why people are so eager about this. Is it for big CLs and reasonably good rewards? Other things the card is supposed to offer? Or people blacklisted from Centurion Bank want a card that has less acceptance than Visa but lacks the perks of Centurion Bank Amexes?
I am not sure why either. Penfed, USAA, US bank all have Amex cards and none of them are worth getting. Real American Express cards are much better. I am not sure why people are excited about this one. Bank of America new travel card is much more enticinig.
I think a lot of it may just be different strokes for different folks. Lots of people are interested in a boatload of different cards. If not, the cards couldn't exist. Many might want the AMEX card they otherwise can't get - for whatever reason, blacklist or otherwise.
It was a rumor earlier in this thread my friend. But it is just that...a rumor. No one knows, but I would assume it would be next month since the original announcement stated it would be out in Fall 2017.
Well since they didn't HP me when I asked for a CLI the last time, I figured out that I jumped the gun and was too early, so I did again. Got the 24 hour message this was yesterday. I got on chat today to figure that out. I was denied, but since I had a credit card specialist I thought that I would do a little fact-finding. I asked about the AMEX. She said that option should be available beginning 9/7. I asked her if I could PC my current card into that one? She told me no you would not be able to PC a current card, but that you are allowed to be primary on up to 3 NFCU cards. So for those of you with profiles strong enough or just wanting this card, app away. My I'm going to get some more bad stuff taken careof and get my UTI down to a more appealing level before asking for this one. Maybe in November or December for a Christmas Present.
Labor Day weekend is now behind us, so I'm thinking NFCU should be releasing their new Amex card any day now. I just checked their website, and it's still promoting the Flagship Rewards Visa card and does not mention the Amex. If anybody hears any news about the Amex, please post it here. And if you have other business to transact by phone with NFCU today, please be sure to ask the rep about the Amex.
Spoke to a NFCU CSR last week who shared Amex will be available Sept 6th (Wednesday). I hope he is right!
