Bloomberg News reported Wednesday that DiNapoli contacted executives last week from Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and other companies to ask them to consider reclassifying gun transactions as high-risk purchases, similar to pornography or illicit drugs.
I'm not going to get into the politics of guns/tobacco/etc but this IMO is an example of how the political correctness of those in power can and will use their position of influence to control products they don't agree with. Again, this is NOT an opinion on guns, and yes I know that is a hot subject. Wheather or not you prefer credit/debit over cash or not, this is an example of how your life choices can be affected by limiting your payment options or choice - think "healthy eating advocates" limiting your choice to fast food or say "bacon" because "it's not good for you".
