Thought I would post this as a head's up to those that received this promotion.

There is a similiar article in the LA Times. The fine line pending IRS clarifiication is this. If you open a miles credit card  and get bonus miles for opening the account that might be taxable pending IRS clarification. If you are redeeming miles that is not taxable.
