Well, it happened.
Yesterday i I received an email at midnight and again at 5am to call FNBO Fraud Dept, as well as phone messages. I got in to work yesterday am and called them, and there was a charge they'd stopped for $82 and change from <three initials> Europe out of the Netherlands. I didn't recognize the tx and had them report the fraud and issue a new card. I've been closely monitoring all my cards anyway, but more so during this month as I knew I had shopped at Target during the time of the breach.
Fast forward to today. I saw the same company listed on my Chase card (which I had just paid off, so I knew there shouldn't be a balance) and the charge was, again, $82 and change. I called them and immediately reported fraud and cancelled/reissued cards.
The only other card I used was my debit card and my Target RedCard. I'm watching those like a hawk and will report back whether I see anything on either one. I suspect RedCards will be fine; other companies' cards are likely the ones more at risk simply due to ease of use.
The interesting piece of information: Target has repeatedly said this breach did NOT impact online transactions. However, I only used these cards at Target.com and not in-store. So, either FNBO *and* Chase (one MC, one VISA) were also compromised, or.... Target.com is also involved.
I'd be curious as to whether anyone else has been impacted. And watch your cards for <3 initials> Europe as a charge line for $80-some.

Absolutely, sign up for this! It is not being checked against customer lists, FYI, so everyone should sign up for it if you ever shop at target.

This can happen ANYWHERE. Always look at your statements/accounts each month.
100% agreed. I keep a close eye on my accounts as I spent ten years and then some cleaning up after an identity theft. They got me by submitting a change of address to my post office after getting a piece of junk mail misdelivered. They lived in my complex and I didn't catch it for three months because I was still getting some of my mail and was working a ton. By the time they wiped out my bank account on payday and took out dozens of payday loans all over town, I was decimated. I still occasionally get an old utility bill from those days. It's been a nightmare to rebuild from it. I am taking no chances and check all accounts online daily, which may be overkill but I caught the fraudulent Chase charge this morning, so I'm not going to be stopping that habit.

Thanks for sharing your results and kudos to you for keeping close watch on your private credit finances.
It shutters me in that i shopped Target for some purchases but thankfully before the dated ranges of this breach.
Also have the RedCard.
It's gonna cost Target i believe a lot more then their willing to admit right now even in the face of their lukewarm attempts to win back confidence.
I think even more yet unknowns are still yet to surface on this issue in the following months.
I absolutely agree! as only now are some charges popping up. I did let both card issuers know it was potentially target related, and they both indicated they had been tracking them with specific flags in their systems.
Interestingly to me, chase thanked me about 25 times for my business during the call as my account date is 2005. You'd think they'd show some luuuuv with a CLI... ;-)
