This is devastating to me!!! I can not beleive what kind of world that this has become!!! Money hungry Banks, polititians, government!! Pretty sad that a HUMAN life had to end from all the pressure!! What ever happened to Compassion??? Now a days it is just bottom dollar!!

Good lord that's tragic. Thoughts out to the family.
But to your point, the story doesn't exactly go into detail about the personal lives of these folks... There is always more to it than the printed word.

I agree!! There, I am sure, is way more to the story, but the economic crisis is a HUGE factor in many of the suicides I have been reading about lately!!

Why won't banks do a mod until there are late payments? Is it just to tack on fees out of greed?

My guess would be that anyone approaching a bad financial situation requests modification. They must figure that people are going to try to remain current, and only risk falling behind to get a modification if they have no other choice.
