I am taking this year to re-invent myself. I had a hard time last year with being in school full time and not being able to work. We only had one income and it was tight. Lets just say everything that could happen did. I am now about to start my new job as a BSN/RN and I am excited. With both of our incomes, we should be able to attack a lot of this early in the year. I just pulled my credit score from Equifax to see what the damage was, 487. I have a 452 as of 11/09 and I signed up for quarterly updates I think. I take my state boards next month for nursing then I am starting on this. My goal is just to get all bills paid on time for this month and next month. Then, once we get income tax, I want to pay down as much as I can.
My Goals for 2010- Pay ALL bills on time
Pay off all current credit cards
Move up into the low 600's

My goal is to break through into the 700 club. Last year it was to hit 600 and as of today, my score are in the mid 600 range. I believe that the same amount of growth can be achieved this year!!!
To take the challenge tell us the following:
1. Your FICO score goal for 2010- all CRA over 700
2. Your current FICO score(s) - Experian-603 (but I know it went up), TransUnion- 646 (up from 593 a week ago), Equifax-580 (waiting to update)
3. The steps you plan to take to achieve your goal-Removing a few baddies from my credit and getting another credit card and keeping them both under 9% util. It worked last year ..lol

I just got off the phone with a very nice person from the Agency of Credit Control--the collection agency reporting my medical collections--and she informed me she got my GW letter and would be deleting all my accounts and sending me a letter verifying the deletion in case the CRA's don't respond quickly enough!
I had heard the collection agencies don't often honor GW letters, but this one did with the first letter! She did say my letter was polite and respectful, unlike many of the communications she has. So it really does pay to write a nice, honest GW letter.
Thanks for teaching me how to write GW letters everyone. I can't wait to see how much my scores rise because of this! After those are deleted, the only derogs on my credit reports will be a bankruptcy from a few years ago.
I'll be doing the happy dance all weekend now!

My goal is to get my credit score to 720, currently it is 604 with Transunion. My collections are due to fall off in March so hopefully that will help.
1) I plan on paying down all my credit cards.
2) Paying everything on time.
3) Not applying for any new credit

So, in order to better facilitate reaching my 2010 credit goals, I pulled my credit reports for the year. I was pleasantly shocked and a little surprised to see that I have no negatives and there were no errors on my report. YEA!! When I got started, years ago, I had 2 mortgages that weren't mine and a slew of collections, some mine, some not. I couldn't get a pproved for even a secured credit card. It was really very sad. There's something very satisfying about taking stock and seeing all the hard work pay off.
Now to work on the DH's. But even his was dramatically better than the last one I pulled.
So now I guess my plan is just to stay the course and let time do it's thing.

First off I would to say "Thank You" to each, and everyone of you for you patience and passion for helping others. I started out on these forums with bad credit, and no credit whatsoever. I am on here reading everyday, I don't post as much, as you can see. This is what I have done with what I have learned on these forums.
Car Loan paid off Aug 09
Target started 200.00 CL Jul 08, now 1,000.00 CL balance 185.00
JC Penney started 200.00 CL Dec 08, now 1,800.00 CL balance 158.00
Chase started 2,100.00 CL Jul 08, still 2,100.00 CL balance 0
Kay's Jewelers 3,000.00 CL Oct 08, now 4,500.00 CL balance 216.00
Not to mention several PFD'S, and letter's it took to remove items off CR's.
Thank You FICO Forums

My FICO goals for 2010 are to move into the 700+ club.
Current scores are EQ 665 TU 676 EX 674 (Per LO)
All my chargeoffs and collections are due to fall off between August and November. Theres's about 5 total.
I have a paid tax lien that will be 2 years old in Feb. Additionally, I'll have a mortgage and 2 car loans that are all paid but with lots of lates. All of the lates are 5+ years old.
Like most people here, time is my greatest ally. I was just recently preapproved for a home loan. We'll see if I get the home as the LO thinks I may need to pay the collection accounts, which would be a dealbreaker for me.
I will let my accounts age and not apply for new credit other than mortgage loans.
