I met my goal of 700 in 2010 on EQ, but lost it again due to some new credit and utilization issues. Good news is I have baddies dropping off, and for 2011 over 90% of my baddies will drop off. I have an outside chance of losing my only major derog too, and a 90 day scheduled to drop in early 2012. Best of luck to all who take the challenge, and may all your FICO dreams come true!

I have a debt that I am disputing in court with the collection agency (a JDB). Hopefully once that issue is settled my score should improve.
Keeping my fingers crossed and praying.

1. I guess my score goal now would be for 2011, but I'd like to get over 680 by the end of the year
2. TU: 534 EQ: 518 EX: 540
3. Well there are some major errors on my TU and EQ credit reports, removing those should significantly help, I only have $1000 in outstanding debt which I plan on paying off by the end of January. I've had some success with requesting debt verification from collection agencies. At this point I will have 12 months of clear payment history by March, and at this point the best thing I can do is just keep paying on time. According to the score simulator I can expect my score to be above 700 in 24 months if I just do that. I'm working to get the 2 collection accounts on my report removed as they are paid. I only have one CC with a limit of $250 and it looks like I have high credit utilization, first step stop using that card for anything other than an emergency. A lot of stuff ages off my report in 2 years. I've got a lot of work to do, but I'm hoping to buy a new car over the summer, so I really want to get to 650 by July if possible!

My goal is no more inquiries for 2011... and to make it to the 800 club!

Ok, so count me in:
My score is 662,
I have 1 card - cap 1, maxed at 90%- limit 3250.
I will work my way to pay this card down, and then build my credit score with one or two other card ( to raise my limits)+ a car loan in 2011.
There will be sone ups and dwn, but I recently got hired with a nice slary, so it will help.
i ma so excited to do it!

FICO TU 689 FICO EQ 664
2011 Goal: TU 720 EQ 720
Just joined PSECU so soon hope to have FICO EX score.
I have 56,000 in school loans and I just started working after many years of being home and going to school. I'm trying to figure out my UTIL, I think it's 81%... Yikes. My priority is paying off my smallest loan first as quickly as possible and then use the snowball strategy on my others.
I am learning a lot here, thank you to everyone who shares!

Hello and welcome.
If you'll list what kind of credit cards you have, their balances and credit limits, we'll be glad to help you try and figure that out. Utilization of installment loans is factored but it's a very small part of your score and so your revolving utilization is what's most important.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774

After doing further reading, I realized this doesn't apply to me. I do not have any credit cards. Right now I have school loans. I figured out that my debt to income ratio is 9% (based on monthly figures). I am researching which credit card to apply for as that seems to be the best way for me to bring my score up, besides making on time payments.
I have 56,000 in school loans and an old private school debt of 7500 which is a judgement. They don't charge me interest and my payment is 25.00 / month. I'm tackling the school loans first with extra payments since they charge interest.
Thank you!
