Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2011!

My start off score is as follows

EQ: 630 ; TU: 607; EX: 610

My goal is 700, possible, I would think so, but it seems that the CB's have been screwing up my scores.... I have paid off all revolving credit, my credit cards are at a 0 balance, and I have yet to see a change in my score... So, I'm praying...

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2011!

By the end of 2011 I would like to be at a 580 or higher more likely to 620.

my scores are in the low 500's.

I plan on getting my credit cc's to under 10% and staying on top of my credit. And taking care of my collections.

STARTING EQ 445 TU 577
GOAL EQ 620 TU 620

[ Edited ]

1.  Your FICO score goal for 2011 = 750

2.  Your current FICO score(s) = 679 Experian (in January)

3.  The steps you plan to take to achieve your goal = Rebounding from a 2008 bankruptcy, I just got my first credit card since from McGraw Hill (no fees!). I will use it each month and pay it each month. I'm also paying my student loans on time and hoping to pay off the smaller one ($3,800). The larger one is overwhelming ($42,000), so I'll just pay as agreed with a marathon mindset. Other than that, I found one thing to contest on the one report I pulled. I will pull the other two and then contest all at once if the mistake is across the board. I will also never close the McGraw cc and will re-apply for another one in July. Note - the credit report reviewer suggested that I focus on non-store credit cards, as they will help my score in less time than the store cards.

*I found McGraw Hill cc through this site. They work with Balance, so if you get the McGraw cc, you get a free credit report review with Balance, which was helpful in understanding my report and determining if there were mistakes...

**Lastly, how are y'all monitoring your scores on all 3 reports. There seem to be so many options on this site. I'd love to pay a flat or monthly fee and have the reports automatically pulled and sent to me. Suggestions?

Thanks....and lets R.O.C.K. this! C'mon 750!

Hi All!

My current EQ Score is 503.. My goal is 650...

I currently only have 1 secured credit card that i use and pay.  student loans that are still in-school status.  and quite a few medical collections and collection agencys.

Where should I start?  Should I just file BK?  My debt amount is only about $16k

Starting Score: 503

Welcome to myFICO.

At first glance I would say that $16,000 is not enough to file BK over but I don't know your situation like you do.

If you'll go to the Rebuilding Your Credit board and post some of your details (minus any personal Information) you'll get advice and suggestions as to how to repair and rebuild.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2011!

Hey Everyone,

This is definitely a challenge I need to take part in, for too long I've been irresponsible regarding my credit and poor spending habits. For 2011, here are my goals:

1.  FICO score goal for 2011: 680

2.  Current FICO score: 518

3.  Continue PFD process with outstanding collections, work to have inaccurate collection items removed from my report, pay off all revolving credit balances and maintain usage at 10% or below.

I know my goal may seem a little aggressive for one year, but I'm definitely taking the bull by the horns and I'm prepared and able to take these necessary steps to improve my credit score.

Starting Score: 518
Current Score: 518
Goal Score: 680

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2011!

I would have been happy to reach 700 this year. In March I gave my hopeful goal for end if year as 760. My scores have shot thru the roof. Today's lender pull is:

EX=770 EQ=761 TU=713

I am SO happy to say that after more than 3 years I am finally here.

I owe a lot in student loans so it will be hard to get the rest of the way, but my report is finally clean with NO baddies!
4/25/11 FICO: EQ 761....EX 770.....TU 744
3/6/2011 FICO: EQ 710... EX 718... TU 710
09/09 FICO: EQ: 525

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2011!

Congratulations, you should be proud of yourself.

This is my 1st post and hopefully not my last.  I started correcting my credit 2 years ago.  I had a lot of credit card debt that I accumulated while in undergrad.  After meeting a few people and noticing I was just getting very hi interest on loan, I found the important of rebuilding credit.

I am currently 32 at the age of 30 I set several goals for myself that I hope to achieve by age of 35 on of them was to will reach 750 of above in my credit score.

Starting:  Ex. 518 Eq. 524 TU: 518

Current:  Ex. 588 Eq. 614 TU: 617

Goal: 750 or above

Starting Score: 518
Current Score: 614
Goal Score: 750
