I keep getting the ads for $150 cash bonus for signing up for a chase checking account when I'm signed in checking my CCs. Anyone been tempted? I have wells fargo - have no reason to stay really. It turns out they don't even have free billpay! But chase does with DD, which I can get. I've been thinking about switching banks for awhile...but I wonder if it'll require a HP. Probably so...it's also such a hassle to get used to new things but it's $150 for free! Thoughts?
No HP required. I opened an acct first of the year.
Ooh, thanks guys! That definitely makes me feel better about doing it. I took a HP for a DCU membership (no TLs) so I wasn't sure if I wanted to take another one just for a checking account.
Yep, no HP for checking & savings for me either. I signed up with Chase back in Feb and was only able to find a $125 promo at the time. I'm pretty happy with banking with Chase so far and wish I had opened an account with them sooner. I was just so loyal to banking with NFCU that I didnt want to move over. I even opted not to open an employee account with Chase when I was working PT weekends last year. Love using the Bill Pay service, which is something I really never use at any bank or CU before. Chase ATMs are easy to find in my area and I love using the Chase Quickpay to send money to my family/friends.
If you can set up direct deposits or maintain a certain amount of balance (I think it was 10k), there's $250 sign up offers as well.

Yeah I found a $200 promo as long as you had a recurring direct deposit. I love Chase! I'm not too crazy about the savings account, but the checking is awesome!

I got 300, but wanna play the checking game- look to Citibank - 400 now. Flyertalk has a post on the AA checking- worth close to 600
Where did you find the $300? That's awesome!
