ok I HAVe an account which was paid off to zero balance back in 2001. It still shows up on my credit report as being 30 days late. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can remove this status if possible? Thanks for any help.
actually its not I had to go look again. It was paid off in sep of 02. So its only been 5 years..Still I wonder why it says 30 days late when its completely paid off..it should say that right?
Lates stay on your CR up to 7 years regardless of what the account balance is. Since its 5 years old, its not hurting your score that much. I would leave it be.
