I just bought a new car and my Equifax is 801! I can't believe that I am finally above 800! I wasn't expecting the score, but I'll take it
Congrats

Wonderful! Welcome to The Club!!!!
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
I'm jealous! Congrats, that is SUCH a huge achievement!
Maybe I'm suposed to start a new thread, but I fgiure the OP gets soem extra run here, too.
I made it!.
800 on the dot from TU, per my Barclay Card account benefit
I celebrated with an app for the Amex Blue Cash Preferred. They moved my $24.3k off the Blue Sky to the BCP, and put $11.3k on the Blue Sky. I'm cool with that. For what its' worth, pretty sure the jump from 790 to 799 this in October was due to paying the car loan down to belowe 50% owed.
I'm not going to worry about preserving the 800; it was cool to get there once, though.

I bought the 2009 model in 2011 and refinanced it in Feb of 2013. Back then I was in the midst of refi-ing the house and another CC app spree - so I'm pretty sure my score was moving downward. I stopped, then just apping one more CC in Oct of 2013. I paid off a couple 0% CC balances since then as well. The first time I actually looked at the score it was 730's, in the summer of 2013. It's been moving up and then stalled at 780-790 range for several months.
I'm guessing the Installemt Loan (car) paid below 50% was a trigger for this last pop up. Just a hunch, too because it the reasons cited for my score included "amount owed compared to orignal loan on installment loans is too high" - paraphrasing.
Finally, as many of you have learned, it's clear the score is not related to potential risk. My limits far exceed my salary. Two years ago, I would never have thought that.
