85% balance of credit

I heard that we need to keep our credit balances low, preferably below 50% while it's particularly bad to have a balance above 85%. Is that true? Are there any percent markers to use as guideline?

Welcome to the forum.  85% util is pretty high.  Shoot for no more than 9% on 1 card reporting.
