After closing AU account CR says

  Sears citi card> credit report says account terminated after I closed my AU account with them. Is this what it should say? Another account I closed with AU on it says account closed,sounds better.  The Sears account sounds like They terminated me instead of me closing my au account with them.

If it is an AU account, you dont and never did have an "account" with them, so their is no account to close.

Terminated is, in my opinion, the more accurate designation, as the AU was not closed, their discretionary reporting of you as an AU was terminated.  The account of the principal is most likely still open.

That is the correct code when you are an AU and you are removed from the account.
