Hi All -
I am an additional cardholder (ie not primary) on an American Express Platinum. There is no credit limit. It appears on my credit report as having a high balance - not because of my own use but because of others in the account. it is paid in full each month, but obviously shows a balance depending on when the report is pulled.
Is this negatively impacting my credit utilization? I am not sure.
Thank you
nope, Amex cards don't count into your utilization. The debt amount figures into your money owed, but the balance on the Amex does not play into your credit card utilization.
Current FICO models do not include charge cards in reovlving utilization. IIRC older models used high balance as "limit" when factoring charge cards into revolving utilization.
Additionally, accounts where one is an AU aren't necessarily considered in all situations.

AmEx does issue credit cards as well as charge cards. Don't conflate "AmEx" and "charge card".
well of course I Know Amex offers both cards. I can be more specific, I was just refering to OP's question about Amex Platinum.
Only Amex Charge Cards do not count into utilization.
