Before You Even think about applying

I have been reading the different posts in the forums and people are not doing things in the right order before applying for credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, personal loans, etc.  The very first thing hat you need to do is look at your credit reports with Equifax, Experian, & Transunion. Next, any inaccurate information or accounts need to be disputed. If it is accurate then it will stay on the credit report. If you have had any issues with being late, that needs to stop immediately. This also means you may have to make other sacrifices such as cutting down on a high lifestyle or things that you do not need. The next thing is for you to talk to a mortgage lender & have them take a look at your credit reports along with your time on the job, debt to income ration, & fico score. A mortgage department can tell you if you are ready. And if not what goals that you need to set. Then when you are ready then apply. Only when you have been approved do you even think about looking at a house or signing some kind of building contract.
