Beginners questions, probably easy help.

So, I am brannnnd new here.
I just signed up here and got the free 30 day trial (Which I am loving!)

In 2002, I had a few accounts that went into collections, and those come up twice as flagged, even though it is the same account and I paid the collections on time.

It is the same ammount, but the collector's entry says date opened: not on record.

There are actually two accounts like this, can I get the duplicates off?

Also, I have one last account in collections that I am going to pay off on the 30th.
How much power do I have to ask them to remove it from the credit report?
$172.00, not a big deal, but I don't want any recent flags on there.
When I call to arrange a payment is there something I can say?
The credit card was issued from WFNNB, if that makes a difference.

Do NOT pay that 172.00 without sending a PFD first. Get it in writing that if you pay it, they will have it deleted from the CRA.............No phone calls.....in writing only

And ABSOLUTELY, if there are duplicate accounts, get them OFF of there!

That's a completely legitimate dispute.

ok, thank you!

I mail/fax the letter and wait to hear back from them in writing, before paying?
Just want to make sure.

Personally, i would mail  it certified with return receipt. They can easily say they did not get your fax, but there is no way around it if you do CMRRR
